Seasonal  Pattern In Lake Biwa

November

As November arrives, the water temperature begins to drop due to repeated turnover. This causes bass to scatter across various parts of the lake—some fish move deeper, while others remain in the shallows or mid-range. Despite the colder conditions, bass are still actively feeding, following baitfish across the lake. This is also a prime time for catching numbers of smaller fish, as they remain highly active. Since the weather can feel quite chilly to us, it's essential to be prepared with warm clothing. Make sure to bring a good, warm jacket.

In the south lake, bass tend to gather around the outer edges of weed beds, where they hunt baitfish. Techniques like drop shotting and using shad lures can be very effective for catching numbers of bass. The thrill of suddenly hooking a larger fish while targeting smaller ones adds to the excitement. For those aiming to catch bigger bass, fishing in dredged areas might be a good strategy.

In the north lake, deep brush piles and large reefs produce good results. If you're after a trophy-sized bass, it's worth trying these deep areas, though the challenge is higher. Dredged areas are also good spots to target. In shallower waters, drop shots and neko rigs work well. For deep-water fishing, methods like mid-strolling, no-weight rigs, free rigs, and neko rigs are proving effective.
